With the introduction of the KTMB high-speed ETS Train in Malaysia (Electric Train Service), I feel that travelling by train is faster than by bus. U can reach Alor Setar, Kedah within 4 and a half hours compared to 6 hours travelling by bus.
The ETS is operating from Gemas, Negeri Sembilan up to Padang Besar, Perlis and there are three types of ETS:
ETS Platinum Service - Has very few stops and the most expensive because it will get you to your destination in the quickest way.
ETS Gold Service - A limited stopping train and the most frequent services.
ETS Silver Service – The cheapest among the three options because it stops at all stations
This time around I would like to illustrate on the online ticket purchase.
Firstly, it is compulsory to register. If you are a new user, u have to fill in the details as illustrated in the figure below.
Once you have register, you may log in by filling in the username and password.
If you are an existing user, the transaction history will be display as below.
Next, fill in the details of your reservation as illustrated below. The origin, destination, journey date, choice of train and coach.
The Passenger Detail will pop up immediately after you click on the button “Add”. Therefore, please fill in the passenger detail as required. See illustration below.
You are able to select your seat as well. A pop up of seat detail will come out for you to choose.
After you have confirmed your details, click on the button “Continue” to proceed with the payment.
The total amount will be displayed on your screen as illustrated below. You are allowed to pay thru credit card or online banking.
After payment has been proceed, your booking are displayed as below. You may print the detail at the Ref. Id, the lined blue text.
